Ellis' First Soccer Game

Our Little Soccer Player

Ellis Zack's first soccer game was yesterday. We were really excited, and Ellis had been talking about it all week. Ellis had done great in the two practices we had, following directions super well, and kicking the ball great down the field.

So we were jazzed.

Saturday, the big day. We get there. We put our orange and black uniform on. We have our cleats. (which Ellis calls "shoes with legs") We have our shin guards. We begin the game.

We start off with a bang.

After seeing Ellis run off the field to get "his ball", and then kicking someone else's ball down the field that he snagged from the sidelines, we realized...we didn't really play with one ball during practice. Every kid had his own ball going down the field, kicking it in between the cones, etc.

So Ellis is wondering why he has to chase his ball when there are at least twelve other balls in his sight.

We lost the vision for awhile after the first few minutes of the game. It was much more fun to kick the ball with Daddy, Papa Buck, Uncle Christian, and Braden on the sidelines. But we rallied again, and Ellis Z warmed up a little more at the end. I have included some highlights of the game including Ellis throwing the ball in and a super fun game we like to call "see what happens when you cover your eyes and run down the field." Enjoy.

Highlight of this reel...Tate casually sauntering on the field as if he is supposed to be there - this was a continuous problem.

It's hard to tell from this eight second snippet, but there was a portion of this game that EZ ran back and forth with his hands covering his face.

Kent and I's sixth anniversary was yesterday also - our anniversary picture officially requires more than one hand now. Three kids, three homes, and three jobs later, I still can't believe I get to be married to him!
