Alot has happened since I blogged last...mainly, a new baby. Glory Evelyn Mitchell was born on May 4, 2010, weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. Kent's first words were, "It really is a girl!". There is no doubt whose daughter she is...Kent's. She looks just like him, though when she was born, we really thought she looked like her namesake, our sweet Granny (MaryEvelyn). GloryEvelyn has the "bright blues", our name for her beautiful eyes, white blonde hair with a bit of strawberry, and fair skin. She is eight months now and is just a plump bundle of happiness and joy. She has been my easiest baby by far! And I have to say, I am enjoying having a little girl so much. Sweetness and light, that is our little GloryEvelyn.
This is a pretty typical picture of her with her wide open mouthed smile.

Tate just turned two in January and is known for his crazy ringlet curly hair. (which we sadly cut just a couple of weeks ago, though it is still very very curly) He is quite the little mischievous imp, and is Ellis' loyal partner in making messes and getting into trouble. "Thoughtfully determined" still fits him, though I think "headstrong" fits the bill more often. One of my favorite things about Tate is how he treats GloryEvelyn. He absolutely adores her, frequently patting her on the head and getting right up in her face to talk to her in a high-pitched squeaky voice. Tate is left-handed and really does everything with his left hand. He likes bananas more than anyone I can imagine, and answers most every question with an enthusiastically loud "YyyyyyyyyyyEAH!!"
Pre-Haircut
Kent made these pipe cleaner glasses for Tate, and he just loves them!
Ellis turned three in November and has not slowed down. In fact, we joke that Tate and Ellis together sound like a herd of elephants running across our old hardwood floors. He has definitely inherited what my brother Christian calls my "undying optimism" and generally greets life with positive gusto. He still loves all things transportation, everyone he meets is his friend, and over Christmas, he began writing his name well. Three has made him really seem like a big boy, though his big cheeks leave just a little bit of baby. He follows a string of ideas of what we should do with the same question every time, "would that be good?!" These ideas typically involve going outside, painting, getting cookies with sprinkles, or riding in Daddy's Jeep.

In other family news, we bought a new home (or new to us rather, built in 1919) about six weeks ago and have been incredibly busy fixing it up to our liking. :) Of course, we had to do not so fun things like getting a new roof, and repairing the mortar that was in bad shape, but we have gotten through that now thankfully. I, of course, am busy with the kids, but enjoying making over my new home. (pictures to come!) Kent is still enjoying his new partner position at his practice and doing seminary part-time.
I am excited about blogging again, more coming soon!
