First Haircut

Still catching up on stories/pictures...

After several phone, email, and in-person interventions, Kent and I finally ceded to cutting Ellis's hair. It was getting rather mulletesque, but all my mother's heart could see was a bald baby for the first fourteen months of life. Nevertheless, a highchair (restraint), a little TV (distraction), and Mommy's haircutting scissors were in order. I figured it HAD to be easier than cutting Kent's hair - no moaning or sharp intakes of breath when he thinks I have the scissors too close to his face. Hard to believe I have been doing it for nearly seven years! Ellis came through like a champ and much to our happiness still managed to keep his curls. He is not quite ready for a big boy haircut yet - he still has too much of a baby face. :)

Feeling very proud of his long locks pre-haircut
From the back pre-haircut - this looks so much longer in pictures to me than it did in real life - probably the reason for the multiple interventions. :)
Wet hair pre-cut...I know, it was SO long!
A very stylish look a la Mommy. :)
Little imp afterwards
This went into EZ's special box.

Just some randoms...

Ellis doing some "work" - notice how his foot is propped on the chair :)

Tate and Daddy sleeping - it's rare to get one of our kids like this :)

My favorite comments heard at our house today:

"Ellis, you are not a dancing bear, get down." (Kent's response to Ellis trying to stand and balance on his big blue ball.) I have laughed about it all day!

"Mommy, water please?" before I could answer, Ellis says apparently imitating what he thought I would say..."Okay Ellis, just a minute, just a minute, it's no problem, just a minute." Yikes! However, Ellis easily surpassed this a couple of weeks ago when he lowered his voice several octaves after he asked Kent for something and said "okay, okay".
